The Journey: Head. Heart. Being.

Yancey Consulting’s methodology for transformation follows a Head, Heart, Being trajectory. We believe that you must have a solid understanding of the concepts of anti-racism and anti-oppression, including their historical derivatives and societal impacts.  Once you understand (HEAD), then you must feel what these concepts mean in your life—currently and ancestrally—as they have been empowered by economic, social, and political systems rooted in white supremacist beliefs and reinforced by discriminatory systemic practices.  We cannot change if we don’t feel (HEART).  Our feelings open us up to becoming who and how we want to be (BEING).  

Yancey Consulting curates information and experiences in our Learning to Applied Practice transformation journey with elements of Head, Heart, and Being in mind. We design across four intrapersonal identities of an individual—1); You and the inner self (The Personal); 2) You with another person who is different than you (You and Other); 3) You in your roles interacting with people in the world (You as a Role); and 4) You activating your civic duties in society (You in Society).
